The Farmer Foundation, Inc. is committed to creating equitable learning environments for students and teachers in under-resourced communities.
Established in honor of Reverend George and Deaconess Emma Farmer, whose legacy of compassion and service inspires our mission, we focus on providing critical resources to underserved communities. Our programs include scholarships, college and career preparation, educator support and other initiatives to ensure both students and educators have the tools they need to thrive. We prioritize serving underrepresented and under-resourced secondary school students, with a focus on high school learners. In addition, we support educators by addressing gaps in funding and resources.
Our vision is to create a future where every student has equitable access to quality education and every educator is empowered with the tools to inspire and teach effectively. We aspire to help build stronger communities by fostering a culture of learning, equity, and empowerment, ensuring that the legacy of education drives societal progress for generations to come.
At The Farmer Foundation, we are driven by a profound commitment to educational equity and a belief in the transformative power of education to shape lives and communities. Our work is guided by the following core principles:
Empowerment Through Education: We are dedicated to breaking down barriers that prevent students and educators from reaching their full potential. By providing the resources and support they need, we empower individuals to achieve academic success and lifelong growth.
Community Upliftment: Inspired by the legacy of Reverend George and Emma Farmer, our foundation is deeply rooted in the values of giving back and paying it forward. We strive to uplift communities by fostering a culture of learning and collaboration.
Equity and Opportunity: We are motivated by the urgent need to address disparities in education. Our mission focuses on ensuring that underrepresented and under-resourced students and educators have access to the tools, mentorship, and financial assistance necessary to thrive.
Legacy of Service: As a family rooted in Quincy, Florida, the Foundation’s work is a tribute to the love, guidance, and nurturing provided by our community. This legacy of compassion and service propels us to advocate for future generations.
Partnership and Collaboration: We believe in the power of partnerships to create lasting change. By working alongside schools, administrators, educators, businesses, and communities, we aim to build a collective movement that champions education and empowerment.
These driving forces shape every initiative we undertake, ensuring our mission to Educate, Advocate, and Empower remains central to all that we do.
