By working alongside schools, administrators, educators, businesses, and communities, we aim to build a collective movement that champions education, advocates for educational equity and empowers students and educators to reach their full potential. We aim to uplift communities, create opportunities, and inspire long-term change.

The Farmer Foundation, Inc. is committed to creating equitable learning environments for students and teachers in under-resourced communities.

Established in honor of Reverend George and Deaconess Emma Farmer, whose legacy of compassion and service inspires our mission, we focus on providing critical resources to underserved communities. Our programs include scholarships, college and career preparation, educator support and other initiatives to ensure both students and educators have the tools they need to thrive. We prioritize serving underrepresented and under-resourced secondary school students, with a focus on high school learners. In addition, we support educators by addressing gaps in funding and resources.

The Farmer Foundation is dedicated to delivering impactful programs that address the unique needs of students and educators in underrepresented and under-resourced communities. Our flagship services are designed to foster academic success, provide financial support, and ensure student and educators have the necessary resources to be successful. These services represent the core pillars of our mission—Educate, Advocate, and Empower.

Scholarship Programs

One of our key initiatives is providing financial scholarships to underrepresented high school students. Our scholarship program aims to help reduce the financial barriers that hinder access to higher education, enabling students to pursue post-secondary education, technical training, or vocational programs. By offering tuition assistance and support for college-related expenses, we empower students to achieve their academic goals and pursue meaningful careers.

Student EmpowerED Packs

The Student EmpowerED Packs Back-to-School program provides students with a new backpack filled with school supplies, necessary for a great start to the school year. These supplies help improve student readiness, confidence, and class participation.

Student Programs and Services

We offer structured student programs and services that aim to guide students along their academic journey. Experienced educators and professionals will provide personalized support, guidance, and encouragement. Programs like ACT/SAT preparation courses will help increase students’ scores and increase their chances of getting into the college /university of their choice.

Educator Support Grants

Recognizing the critical role educators play in shaping student outcomes, we offer grants to provide financial support for classroom supplies (Classroom Ready Project) and teaching resources. These grants aim to ensure that educators are equipped with the necessary tools to enhance their teaching methodologies, foster inclusive learning environments, and effectively engage students. The Classroom Ready Project helps to remove the burden of educators coming out of their pockets to purchase supplies for their classrooms.

Educational Equity Advocacy and Community Engagement

Our foundation will actively advocate for policies that promote educational equity, aiming to address systemic challenges that disproportionately impact under-resourced communities. We will engage with local schools, school administrators, community organizations, and policymakers to amplify voices advocating for increased funding, resource allocation, and equitable access to quality education. Our efforts aim to build lasting partnerships that drive systemic change.

Community Programs and Workshops

To foster community involvement and support, we will organize educational workshops and community events that encourage parents, educators, and community leaders to collaborate. These programs focus on empowering students, fostering parental engagement, and promoting career exploration – helping students connect their academic achievements to future opportunities.
