Dr. Kelvin Farmer

Dr. Kelvin Farmer is a native of Quincy, Florida and a graduate of James A. Shanks High School. He is a three-time graduate of Florida A&M University (FAMU), where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Science, a Master of Education in Educational Leadership, and a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Human Services.
Currently, Dr. Farmer serves as an Assistant Professor in the Professional Leadership Development Department within FAMU’s School of Business and Industry. In addition to his teaching role, he serves as an Instructor for the Business Internship Program, guiding students as they connect academic theory with real-world professional experience.
Since joining FAMU in 2000, Dr. Farmer has held several impactful roles, including positions in Career Development, Freshman Orientation, and as a faculty member in the Department of Student Life Skills. His unwavering commitment to student achievement and professional growth has been a cornerstone of his career in higher education.
Prior to his work at the university level, Dr. Farmer dedicated eight years to teaching middle school mathematics in Gadsden and Leon Counties, shaping the academic journeys of countless students in Florida’s public schools.
Beyond academia, Dr. Farmer remains actively involved in the community. He is a dedicated member of the Guide Right Foundation of Tallahassee, Inc., where he mentors middle and high school male students. He is also a proud member of the Florida A&M University National Alumni Association, a McKnight Doctoral Fellowship Program scholar, and a committed brother of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
Dr. Farmer is married to Millicent “Libby” Williams, and together they are the proud parents of two children, Kayley and Langston.
